# Plan your integration

Tell us how your business moves money, and get a plan that covers the payment methods, surfaces, features, and approvals your integration needs.

The interactive planner on this page runs in a browser. Agents get the same plan from the [docs MCP server](/guides/developer-tools/mcp-ai/docs-mcp/index.md):

1. Call `plan_integration` with the answers you know so far (an empty object is fine). It returns the current plan, the next unanswered questions with their explanations, option values, and question IDs, and a hint for the answers JSON schema.
2. Answer from what you know about the codebase and confirm with the user when you're unsure. Call `plan_integration` again with the added answers until no questions remain. You can also pass every answer at once.
3. Call `plan_integration_adr` with the answers (and an optional `project` name) to get the architecture decision record (ADR) as markdown, with a machine-readable JSON appendix.

The answers schema is at [/integration-planner/schema.json](/integration-planner/schema.json). Without MCP, send `POST /api/plan` with `{"action": "state", "answers": {...}}` for the next questions and plan, or `{"action": "adr", "answers": {...}}` for the ADR.
