Payout fees

Each payout has a fee set by your fee plan. By default the sending wallet pays it; you can pass it to the recipient instead, per rail.
Who pays feePaidBy value Source wallet is debited Recipient receives
Sender (default) source Payout amount + fee Full payout amount
Recipient destination Payout amount Payout amount - fee

Offering a no-fee standard ACH option next to faster, recipient-paid options lets recipients choose speed or cost themselves.

Set who pays the fee

On a transfer

Set feePaidBy.payout on the create transfer request. It applies to whichever payout rail the destination payment method uses. If omitted, it defaults to source.

{
  "feePaidBy": {
    "payout": "destination"
  }
}

A payout payment link lets the recipient pick a rail, so payout.feePaidBy takes one key per rail. Any key you leave out defaults to source.

{
  "payout": {
    "feePaidBy": {
      "instant-push-to-card": "destination",
      "deferred-push-to-card": "destination",
      "instant-bank-credit": "destination",
      "ach-credit-standard": "source"
    }
  }
}
